So, when you play to GTA V under Windows 10, the game will always be launched in Dx11 or Dx10 mode.

Theyd have to first update this iteration of the RAGE engine to take advantage of it.

That would be a monumental waste of resources and time.

This excuse: Its not our fault, its the fault of DirectX (Mircosoft), or nvidiaAMD cards.

Low Level optimization depend from gamesoftware developers (Studios, Editors, Publishers).

Gamers depend of the skills from Microsoft (OS and Dx), all other OS developers (of the game is multiOSMulti-platform), OpenGL project, nvidia and AMD developers: Because Studios doesnt care about to optimize their games (even Rockstar.

In fact, the Devs (Studios) have to optimize a game by themselves when a game runs on a low-level build.

Today the performances are ONLY linked by the optimizations (and good features) from the APIs.

Soon, the performances will not depend on Dx12, but only on how the game engine is designedoptimized for Dx12 (depend of the Devs skills and knowledge from these StudiosPublishers about the Dx12, Mantle, Vulkan APIs and others).

AMD claimed that Mantle will be a great solution for game studios.

And what. how many games are developed withfor Mantle.

But fortunately, with Dx12, studios have to build games to work onwith Low-Level API now, and then other solutions like Mantle, Open GL (specially Vulkan) and all other Low-Levels APIs will no longer be ignored.

In fact, Devs are so lazy, im afraid to see them only work on the solely low-level Dx12.

Remember the commend Rockstar make years ago that they look out in the platforms currently in the marked and what ever is bigger that is for what they are developing.

In 1-2 years the DX12 will be more popular, GTA V will not be anymore.
